Located at the University of Houston within the Bauer College of Business,
the Information Systems Research Center has been keeping Houston area
businesses on the leading edge of information technology management for
more than 25 years.
ISRC membership provides firms with opportunities for:
-
NETWORKING
The ISRC brings IS professionals together on a regular basis to share
information. The focused venue provides members with an ideal environment
for information exchange. They provide an opportunity to talk with
people who face the same issues you deal with everyday.
-
CONTINUOUS LEARNING
The world of information technology changes rapidly. To stay ahead,
IS professionals need to study current issues and trends and hear
from the experts. ISRC executive seminars, tutorials and roundtables
provide an effective and efficient way to keep on top of current
issues in the field.
-
RECRUITING
In a tight technology labor market, membership in the ISRC gives
firms an edge in student recruiting. Member firms are provided
with special opportunities to interact with students and better
know more about them and their career aspirations. Input from
member firms also helps shape the College's MIS
curriculum, ensuring that our students have the right combination
of knowledge and skills to meet the needs of the business community.
We invite you to explore the benefits of ISRC
membership. As a member, you have access to:
-
SEMINARS AND ROUNDTABLES
From September to May of each year, the ISRC offers a series of executive
seminars, which bring ISRC members together with internationally recognized
IS experts to discuss important management and technology issue s.
At our roundtable sessions, firms exchange ideas, share common experiences
and identify new approaches to key IS problems. Each session is guaranteed
to provide valuable information that is immediately relevant to our
members.
-
TECHNOLOGY BRIEFING
These briefings address topics that are not commercially available
now, but will present challenges to our members. In the past, the
briefings have addressed human-centric, optical, and quantum computing,
with the topics expanding in the future.
-
STUDENT CONTACTS
Our IS majors are among the most highly sought after new hires in
Houston. The ISRC provides members with an advantage in the highly
competitive IS recruiting market. The ISRC helps member firms make
connections with the College's IS students at anytime. We host a reception
each semester, which brings me mber firms and graduating IS students
together. We also sponsor an MIS student resume book.
Membership in the ISRC provides firms with
an excellent return on their investment. Contact
us and we'll put you in touch with current members
so you can hear what they have to say. Then we will invite you to attend
one of the ISRC's upcoming sessions so you may
judge for yourself. |
